We provide here steps to enable language support in your computer system, especially for Microsoft Vista, Windows 2007, Windows 2000 and XP. We also present the steps to convert Unicode font into True Type Font (TTF) and vice versa.You will also learn about how to convert a Word document into pdf.
Enable Language Support
Windows Vista, like Windows XP, has inbuilt In Script keyboards for nearly all Indian languages. You can add them via the Control Panel.
Enabling Indic support for Windows 7

Enabling Indic support for Windows 2000
Follow these steps:
Start >> Setting/Control Panel >> Regional and Language option
Step-1: Click on “General” button
Step-2: Check “Indic” option from drop-down menu located at the bottom under “Language setting for the system” heading
Step-3: After checking the “Indic” opting, an instruction will come to insert “Windows 2000 Professional CD-ROM” to copying some file. So, insert the CD to allow them to copy file.
Step-4: Click on “OK” button
Again, follow these steps: Start >> Setting/Control Panel >> Regional and Language option
Step-5: Click on “Input Locales” button
Step-6: Select the language from drop-down menu available under the “Input language” heading
Step-7: Click on “OK” button.
Step-8: After that, at the task bar (Right bottom) “EN” will appear
Step-9: If that option does not appear, please restart your computer
Step-10: After restarting the computer “EN” option will appear at the Right bottom of task bar
Step-11: Open Word page
Step-12: Change language with “Alt and Shift” key. If you have enabled Hindi then “HI” will appear
Step-13: Start typing in Hindi or any other language. It provides support of In script keyboard.
Step-14: If you want to use “Phonetic Keyboard” then follow the below given process.

Step-01: Open the web page: www.bhashaindia.com
Step-02: Click on “Download” menu (Under “For End Users” heading, located at left side)
Step-03: Click on “Indic IME”
Step-04: Under Indic IME option, click on “Indic IME-1 (Hindi)” to download
Step-05: Save the file on desktop and unzip it
Step-06: Double click on “Setup”
Step-07: After finishing the installation, better restart your computer
Step-08: Follow this process: Start >> Setting/Control Panel >> Regional and Language Option >> “Input Languages >> Select “Hindi Indic IME 1 [V 5.1]” from drop down box, available under “Keyboard layout/IME” heading >> Ok >> Apply
Step-09: Open the word document and change the language option with “Alt and Shift”
Step-10: Click on the “Keyboard” image and select the “Hindi Transliteration” option and start typing in phonetic way.
Enabling Indic support for XP
Follow these steps:
Start >> Control Panel >> Regional and Language option
Step-1: Click on “Regional Options”
Step-2: Select “India” from drop-down menu located at the bottom under “Location” heading
Step-3: Click on “OK” button
Again, Follow these steps: Start >> Control Panel >> Regional and Language option
Step-4: Click on “Languages” button
Step-5: Check both boxes given below the “Supplemental language support” (After checking the box, one instruction will come to insert “Service Pack-2” CD to copy some file
Step-06: Click on “OK” button
Step-07: Click on “Languages” button
Step-08: Click on “Details” button
Step-09: Click on “Add” button, given below the “Installed services” heading
Step-10: Select language, i.e., Hindi from drop-down menu given below the “Input Language” heading
Step-11: Click on “OK” button and then on “Apply” button
Step-12: At the task bar (Right bottom) “EN” will appear
Step-13: If that option not appeared, please restart your computer
Step-14: After restarting “EN” option will appear at the Right bottom of task bar
Step-15: Open word page
Step-16: Change language with “Alt and Shift” key. If you have enabled Hindi then “HI” will appear
Step-17: Start typing in Hindi or any other language. It provides support of Inscript keyboard.
Step-18: If you want to use “Phonetic Keyboard” then follow the below given process.

Step-8: Click on + sign that is located of the left side of “Hindi” option
Step-9: Click on + sign that is located in left of the keyboard option
Step-10: Check both option– “Devnagari Hindi (Inscript) and “Hindi Traditional”
Step-11: Click on “OK” button and then on “Apply” button
Step-12: At the bottom task bar (Right bottom) “EN” will appear
Step-13: If that option does not appear, please restart your system
Step-14: “EN” option will appear at the Right bottom task bar
Step-15: Open word page

Step-10: Click on the “Keyboard” image and select the “Hindi Transliteration/Hindi Indic IME” and start typing in phonetic way.
You need to download these Setup files from Microsoft Bhasha.
Please follow these steps to run the Setup and convert file:
Step-1: Click on .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 to download that and save it at your Desktop
Step-2: After that, Click on TBIL Converter 4.0 that is available under Font Tools menu and also save this at Desktop
Step-2: First Run the .NET Framework Version 3.5 SP1
Step-3: After that Run the TBIL Setup (For that double click on Setup image and follow process
Step-4: After that Desktop icon will appear.
Step-5: Double click on that to do the font conversion and follow these processes >> Check the Doc Files box >> Go >> Source Language (Hindi) >> Source format (Unicode) >> Source font (Mangal) >> Target language (Hindi) >> Target format (ASCII) >> Target font (Kruti Dev 010 >> Next >> Browse >> Convert >> OK >> Exit >> Yes
Step-6: File will get saved at that location where source file had been kept.
Step-7: After conversion you may find some characters (letters) are missing, so that you have to do the correction manually.
