The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was established under the RBI Act 1934 and commenced operations on April 1, 1935. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Bank. To celebrate this momentous occasion, a nationwide quiz titled ‘RBI90Quiz’ is being organised for undergraduate students on general knowledge and awareness.
Eligibility
The RBI90Quiz is open to all undergraduate students pursuing bachelor’s degree in any stream of study from recognised colleges in India. The competition is open to students who are indian citizens.
The age of the participants should not exceed 25 years as of September 1, 2024. Only those born on or after September 1, 1999, are eligible
Stages of Quiz
The quiz has four stages.
1. Countrywide online quiz: MCQ based format in online mode. 2. State level round: Those qualifying through the online round will advance to the in-person state level quiz competition. 3. Zonal round: State level winners will compete at Zonal levels. (States are categorized in 5 zones) 4. National final: Zonal winners will compete in the final round.
Quiz Format
The online quiz will consist of multiple-choice questions covering various topics related to general knowledge such as current affairs, history, literature, sports, economy, finance, trivia etc. Questions related to RBI will also be included.
This is a timed quiz with 36 multiple choice questions of varying difficulty levels and 25-second time limit to answer each question. (Total Quiz duration: 15 minutes). Teams with visually impaired student/s will be granted additional 25 seconds per question resulting in a total quiz time of 30 minutes.
The questions will be available in Hindi and English. Participants will have to choose their language option as either English or Hindi at the time of taking the quiz.
Each correct answer earns 1 point. There are no penalties for incorrect answers.
Periodic sample quizzes will also be posted on the platform, and these will not require any special code to participate. Multiple attempts at sample quizzes are allowed.
Tie Breaker Rules
Ties, if any, will be resolved on the basis of the least amount of time taken for completing the quiz. For the teams with visually impaired student/s, the actual time taken will be halved. If ties still remain, the decision will be based on the number of difficult questions answered correctly. In case ties still persist, the decision will be taken based on the amount of time taken to attempt those difficult questions.
Technical Requirements for Online Round
The platform is designed to work on all internet browsers. Stable internet connection will be required.
Right-clicking, copying, and opening another tab/window are disabled and will lead to auto-submission of the quiz.
Selection for Subsequent Rounds
Based on the extent of participation, a specified number of teams, limited to a maximum of two teams per college, will be selected from each state[1] for the in-person rounds at the State Level, subject to verification of details submitted at the time of registration.
In case of teams qualifying through the online quiz, expenses related to travel and stay for the subsequent rounds will be borne by RBI subject to internally fixed limits.

Quiz Schedule
The online RBI90Quiz will take place between 9 AM to 9 PM on September 19, 2024, September 20, 2024, and September 21, 2024, for registered teams. Any change of dates/timing will be updated on the site.
Each team can participate in the quiz only once. Both team members must attempt the quiz together on a single device i.e., mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
Registration
Participants are required to register for the quiz in teams of two members from the same college. There is no limit to the number of teams that can register from a college. Visit https://www.rbi90quiz.in/students/register to register.
Registration is free of charge.
Teams that do not find their college name during registration may submit their college details via the Colleges tab / Contact Us form / live chat / helpline. They will be notified via email when their college is added to the registration list.
Both team members must provide their individual names, gender, date of birth (as mentioned in Class X certificate), email ID, mobile number, and Student ID number (if ID Card has not been issued, the number mentioned on the bonafide certificate/authority letter/ validation letter/ authorization letter issued by the college/university must be provided). These credentials will be verified if the team is selected for the subsequent rounds and if found incorrect/incomplete, will lead to disqualification.
In case the members of a team need to be changed after registration (but before registration closes) the previous registration can be deleted and the team can be registered with the new composition. If selected through the online round, the same team will continue for the subsequent rounds of the quiz.
Visually Impaired candidates may indicate their categorisation by selecting the box provided. It may be noted that the requisite certificate will be verified in case of proceeding to the subsequent rounds.
Upon filling the requisite fields, and post verification of the same, both team members will receive an auto-generated team code (same code). The team can use this code to log in with their password on the designated day/s for the online quiz.
Prize
The selected list of teams will receive a call/sms/email regarding the confirmation of their selection and the students will then be required to undergo verification of their credentials provided at the time of registration.
