The Danteshwari Temple is located in the historic town of Barsur, in Dantewada district, Chhattisgarh. Dedicated to Goddess Danteshwari, the temple&rsquo;s original ancient structure has completely collapsed over time. Today, the sculptures are housed within a simple brick structure topped with a baked terracotta tile roof. The shrine houses four black stone sculptures in three cells&mdash;two depicting Mahishasuramardini, placed in separate cells, and two depicting Vishnu, housed together in the third cell. Stylistically, these sculptures belong to the Kakatiya art of Warangal and date from the 11th to 13th centuries CE.
