<p>Located in Lanji tehsil, Balaghat district, Madhya Pradesh, the Koteshwar Mahadev Temple is a magnificent historical and spiritual site. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This ancient temple is renowned for its exquisite architecture, religious significance, and natural beauty. Thousands of devotees and tourists visit this sacred site every year. This temple was built during the Kalachuri dynasty.&nbsp;</p>
<h3>Temple's Architecture</h3>
<p>The temple's architecture reflects the grandeur of ancient Indian craftsmanship. It features beautifully carved pillars, elaborate stone sculptures, and a sacred Shivalinga, the temple's primary deity. The temple's rich history makes it extremely culturally significant. The temple consists of a sanctum and mandapa with a shikhara and underwent major renovation during the medieval period. Its outer walls are adorned with various sculptures, mainly depicting apsaras, gods and goddesses. In front of the temple, a modern outer mandapa houses sculptures such as Hanuman, along with various architectural elements. The Koteshwar Mahadeva Temple reflects the rich architectural and sculptural heritage associated with the Kalachuri tradition.</p>
