Temple of Bhandareshwar The Temple of Bhandareshwar is located at Wairagrah in Gadchiroli district. This small temple is situated on a small mound and dates back to 12th-13th century CE. It is provided with an overlapping octagonal roof from the interior, forming a slow-rising pyramidal tower in the form of a shikhara. The temple is built with plain and flat stones devoid of decoration except for sculptures in niches. It was probably provided with a mandapa, which is now lost. The temple is remarkable for its Shaivite iconography of the late medieval age. Source: Archaeological Survey of India
