I-PhD students may choose to exit with an MSc degree if the Subject Board's requirements are met. The intent to exit should be declared by the end of the second year, and all MSc requirements must be completed by the end of the third year. Students holding a 4-year UG degree with ≥75% aggregate are eligible to apply directly to the PhD program (instead of the I-PhD program). However, they will not receive a Master's degree together with the PhD unless explicitly permitted by their Subject Board (currently, only SBTCS allows this). Such candidates in other Subject Boards may choose to apply to the I-PhD program if they wish to obtain a Master's degree together with the PhD.
