The detailed eligibility conditions and other terms are specified below. Objective The objective of the NICSI Internship Scheme is to attract meritorious students from recognized Universities and Institutions and provide them structured exposure to e- Governance solutions, Digital Public Infrastructure and Government IT ecosystems, enabling interns to contribute to NICSI's functional areas while gaining professional insight into public sector digital transformation. The internship program is designed to achieve the following key objectives: A. Structured Learning Provide systematic exposure to live Government IT projects, enabling interns to understand real-world e-Governance systems and digital platforms used in Government. B. Innovation & Research Encourage interns to contribute to live e-Governance solutions, supporting innovation, research and technological advancement within NICSI's functional areas. C. Digital India Mission Provide an opportunity for students to be part of India's Digital India transformation and contribute to strengthening the country's digital public infrastructure. D. Career Development Offer professional insight and exposure to Government technology ecosystems, helping interns develop practical knowledge and prepare for future employment opportunities. Eligibility Bonafide students from recognized Universities/Institutions in India or abroad, pursuing or having recently completed courses relevant to NICSI functional domains including Computer Science& Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, Software Development, Cloud & Data Centre, System Admin & DBA and Develops, Compliance & Management, System Architect shall be eligible to apply under the NICSI Internship Scheme. Courses Academic Eligibility Criteria B.Tech. / Β.Ε. M.Tech. / Μ.Ε. MCA M.Sc. (Computer Science / IT / Data Science / AI or related fields) Any equivalent qualification in relevant technological disciplines (a) Undergraduate Students Must have completed / appeared in term-end exams of second year / fourth semester and secured minimum 70% or equivalent marks in Class 12. (b)Postgraduate Must have completed / appeared in first year / second semester or pursuing. (c) Final Year / Result Awaiting Candidates Students who have appeared in final examination or completed Graduation / PG and are waiting for admission to higher studies may also be considered, subject to: Minimum 70% cumulative marks in all semesters / years Gap between result declaration Note: Fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria shall not guarantee selection for internship under NICSI Internship Scheme. Preference may be given to candidates having relevant domain exposure, strong academic credentials and alignment with NICSI functional requirements. Duration of Internship The duration of internship under the NICSI Paid Internship Scheme shall be Six (6) Months. An Internship Completion Certificate shall be issued only upon successful completion of the prescribed duration, subject to satisfactory performance. Selected candidates shall be required to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) & Forwarding Letter issued by the competent authority of the concerned Institute/University at the time of joining. In respect of final year students, the internship period mentioned in the NOC shall not extend beyond the last working day of the final semester of the course. The internship under NICSI Internship Scheme is a Paid Internship. Payment of stipend shall be governed by the applicable Government policy and shall be subject to approval of the Competent Authority. Interns may be provided necessary office infrastructure and basic facilities as per NICSI norms during the period of internship. Vacancies A total of ten (10) interns shall be engaged in each batch under the NICSI Paid Internship Scheme. Engagement under the NICSI Internship Scheme shall be carried out only in two batches per year, as detailed below: Winter Batch (January - June) Batch Application Window: October - December Summer Batch (July - December) Batch Application Window: April - May The application window shall open approximately three months prior to commencement of the respective batch. Online Application Applications shall be invited only through the Online Portal hosted on NICSI website www.nicsi.nic.in Procedure to Apply Interested and eligible candidates shall apply online only through the NICSI Internship Portal available on the official website www.nicsi.nic.in and upload all required documents in the prescribed format and size limits, including recent photograph and academic mark sheets. Applicants shall indicate the preferred internship batch (Summer/Winter) and domain of internship at the time of submission of application. candidates shall be required to submit the original No Objection Certificate (NOC) & Forwarding Letter issued by the competent authority of their Institute/University. Important Points to Note Before Applying Applicants shall ensure that all required documents are available before starting the application process. All personal and academic details must be carefully verified before final submission. Internship under NICSI Internship Scheme is open to eligible students of recognized Universities/Institutions in India or abroad. Any incorrect or misleading information submitted during registration may lead to rejection of the application at any stage. During registration, any incorrect entry of academic details such as degree, current semester, CGPA or percentage may result in rejection of application at any stage. Applicants shall upload a scanned copy of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) & Forwarding Letter at the time of online application. The NOC must clearly cover the entire duration of the internship. Applicants shall upload academic documents, including 10th, 12th and semester-wise / degree mark sheets, as applicable, in the prescribed format. Applicants shall strictly adhere to the prescribed document formats and maximum file size limits as specified on the NICSI Internship Portal. Non-compliance may lead to rejection of the application. For First-Time Users (Registration): Navigate to the Registration page on the portal. Enter required details (Name, Email ID, Phone number , Institute, Degree, Semester, CGPA/Percentage). Verify all details carefully before submission, as the information once submitted cannot be modified. Complete OTP verification to activate the registration. For Existing Users (Login): Navigate to the Login page on the Internship Portal. Enter your registered Email ID. Complete OTP verification to access your account. After Login: Navigate to Application → Apply on the Home Page. Fill in all required personal and academic details carefully. Upload the prescribed documents, including Photograph, No Objection Certificate (NOC), Forwarding Letter,Academic Mark Sheets, Review the application carefully before submission. Click on the Submit button to complete the application process. Offer of Internship Shortlisted candidates shall be informed individually through their registered email ID.
