Saksham is a Ministry of Education Scheme being implemented by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) aimed at providing encouragement and support to specially abled student to pursue Technical Education. This is an attempt to give every young student, who is otherwise specially abled, the opportunity to study further and prepare for a successful future. Salient Features of the Scheme All eligible specially-abled student admitted to First year of Diploma/ Degree level course OR Second year of Diploma/ Degree level course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution will get the scholarship. Amount of scholarship: For Degree level - Rs. 50,000/- per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum 4 years for first year admitted students and maximum 3 years for second year admitted students through lateral entry as lump sum amount towards payment of college fee, purchase of computer, stationeries, books, equipments, softwares etc. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc. For Diploma level - Rs. 50,000/- per annum for every year of study i.e. maximum 3 years for first year admitted students and maximum 2 years second year admitted students through lateral entry as lump sum amount towards payment of college fee, purchase of computer, stationeries, books, equipments, softwares etc. No other additional grant will be payable in lieu of hostel charges and medical charges etc. No documentary proof need to be attached for the above while availing benefits. Eligibility The candidate should be admitted to First year of Degree/Diploma level course OR Second year of Degree level/Diploma course through lateral entry in any of the AICTE approved Institution of respective year. Specially Abled Student, having disability of not less than 40% Family income not more than 8 lakh per annum during the preceding financial year (in case of married girl, the income of parents/in - laws, whichever is higher will be considered). The candidate should NOT be recipient of any of the Central Govt./ State Govt. / AICTE Sponsored scholarships. Copy of ITI certificate (In case of Lateral Entry for Diploma level)& mark sheet. Copy of Diploma certificate (In case of Lateral Entry for Degree level) & marksheet. Category, if applicable. Study/ Bonafide Certificate in prescribed format Annual Family Income Certificate Promotion Certificate in case of renewal AADHAR seeded Bank Pass Book in the name of the student indicating Account number, IFSC code and Photograph AADHAR card.
