Introduction Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Government started Ladli Beti Scheme in the year 2015. The main objective of the scheme is to curb child marriages and encourage girl students to pursue higher education. Social Welfare Department of J&K government is the implementing department of this scheme. Government provides financial assistance to those girl children who are born on or after 01-04-2015. Ladli Beti Scheme is implemented in two phases. The first phase is in which government deposits Rs. 1,000/- monthly in the name of girl child as recurring deposit until the girl child atttains the age of 14 years. In second phase, government deposits cumulative term deposit for 7 years i.e. until the girl attains the age of 21 years. Girl can claim the maturity amount after she completes the age of 21 years and the approximate amount she receives at that time is Rs. 6,50,000/-. Process to Apply Ladli Beti Scheme Application Form can be filled online which is available on Jansugam Portal of Jammu and Kashmir Government. Register Yourself First with Name, Mobile Number and Email ID. Log in with User Name and Password. Choose Laadli Beti Scheme from services tab. Fill the Online Application Form and upload all the required documents on the portal. Preview and Submit it. The acknowledgement receipt can be saved for future reference. Child Development Project Officer will verify the applications and sent to the department of further approval.
