Introduction The Assam Government has launched the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme to support full-time PhD research scholars studying in Central or State universities located within Assam. This initiative was first announced in the 2025–26 State Budget. The scheme aims to motivate research scholars, ease their academic journey, and encourage high quality research and innovation within the state. The Employment & Craftsmen Training Directorate is the nodal implementing agency, and all applications are processed through the Digital Infrastructure for DBT Schemes (DIDS) Portal. Under this CM Jibon Anurprerana Scheme, regular PhD scholars receive a one-time financial assistance of Rs. 25,000, while divyang (disabled) scholars are eligible for Rs. 40,000, depending on category. The scheme excludes scholars enrolled in private or open universities and those who are current or past beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme. Benefits Eligible research scholars pursuing their PhD within Assam will receive the following benefits :- Rs. 25,000 as a one-time financial assistance to full-time research scholars. Rs. 40,000 as one-time assistance for divyang/ disabled research scholars. The amount is directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account after verification by the university and the concerned department. Eligibility To receive financial support under the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme the applicants must meet the following conditions :- Must be a permanent resident of Assam. Must be a full-time PhD research scholar. Must be enrolled in a Central or State Government University located within Assam. Both male and female scholars are eligible. Not eligible if pursuing a PhD from a private university or an open university. Beneficiaries (current or previous) of the Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Scheme cannot apply. Register using your mobile number and verify it via OTP. Complete the registration form with your personal and academic details. Log in using your registered mobile number and password or OTP. Search for the Chief Minister Jibon Anuprerana Scheme and open the application form. Review your application and submit it. After submission :- Your university will first verify your application. Verified applications are forwarded to the concerned department. The department conducts final checks. Approved beneficiaries receive the financial assistance directly in their bank accounts.
