Introduction The Government of Chhattisgarh has launched the Deendayal Upadhyay Bhoomihin Krishi Majdoor Kalyan Yojana to support landless agricultural workers of the state. This aim of the scheme is improving the economic condition of rural laborers who depend completely on agricultural work for their livelihood. Under this welfare initiative, the state government provides annual financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 to eligible landless agricultural labourer families. Earlier, a similar scheme was running in the state under the name Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, in which beneficiaries received Rs. 7,000 per year. The new scheme has increased the support amount and expanded the coverage. The Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Chhattisgarh has been appointed as the nodal department for implementation. The assistance amount is transferred directly to the bank account of beneficiaries through DBT mode. Process to Apply The application procedure for Deendayal Upadhyay Bhoomihin Krishi Majdoor Kalyan Yojana has been kept completely offline so that even villagers with limited digital access can easily apply. Interested applicants need to visit their nearest Gram Panchayat or Nagar Panchayat office, where the official application form is made available by the department. After collecting the form, the applicant should fill in all the required details carefully such as personal information, address, occupation, and bank account details. A recent passport size photograph must be pasted at the specified place in the form. Along with the form, all necessary documents like Aadhaar card, residence proof, bank passbook, and proof of being a landless agricultural labourer have to be attached. Once the form is complete in all respects, it should be submitted at the Panchayat office. The concerned department will examine and verify the information provided by the applicant. If everything is found correct and the applicant meets the eligibility criteria, the financial assistance under the scheme will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT mode. Important Note: Those beneficiaries who were already registered under the earlier Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Bhumiheen Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana are not required to apply again.
