Introduction In the year 2004, the Chhattisgarh Government launched the Saraswati Cycle Yojana. Reducing the school dropout rate among girl students and encouraging them to complete their basic elementary education is the main objective of this scheme. The Department of School Education of the Chhattisgarh Government implemented this scheme in the whole of the state. Free of cost cycles will be provided to all eligible girl students of class 9th. Only those girl students are eligible who are studying in a Government or Government-aided private school. No need to apply separately, the respective school of girls will shortlist the eligible girl students and send it to the department for approval. Benefits Free Cycles will be provided to Class 9th Girl Students. Eligibility Girl Students of Class 9th studying in a Government or Government Aided Private School. Girl students should belong to any one social category :- SC. (Scheduled Caste) ST. (Scheduled Tribe) OBC. (Other Backward Class) BPL. (Below Poverty Line) Documents Aadhaar Card. Any One Social Category Certificate as per eligibility:- SC. ST. OBC. BPL Ration Card. Process to Apply Submit the Caste Certificate and Aadhaar Card to your respective school. The Principal or school nodal officer will check eligibility and make a list of eligible girl students studying in class 9th. A list of Shortlisted Girl Students will then be forwarded to the School Education Department for further approval. The Government of Chhattisgarh will then organize a public function in which free cycles will be distributed among selected girl students.
