Introduction The Chief Minister’s Advocates Welfare Scheme is a social security initiative launched by the Delhi Government in 2020 to provide financial and medical protection to advocates practicing in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The scheme was introduced to address the long-standing demand for a structured welfare mechanism that safeguards advocates and their families against unexpected events such as death or serious health emergencies. Under this scheme, every eligible and registered advocate is provided a life insurance cover of Rs. 10 lakh, along with a medical insurance (medi-claim) facility of up to Rs. 5 lakh per year. In case of the untimely demise of an advocate, the insured amount is paid to the nominee or family members, ensuring financial stability during difficult times. The scheme also offers professional support in the form of free access to E-Journals in all District Courts of Delhi, helping advocates remain updated with legal research and judgments. The scheme is implemented by the Department of Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs, Government of NCT of Delhi. Eligible advocates can apply through an online application process available on the official Chief Minister Advocates Welfare Scheme portal, where registration, verification, and claim-related information are managed in a transparent and streamlined manner.
