The Mukhyamantri Shikhya Puraskar was launched by the state government of Odisha on November 16, 2022 to recognsie outstanding efforts in achieving academic brilliance and holistic development of schools. The Mukhyamantri Shiksha Puraskar honours more than 50,000 students, 1,500 principals, the school management committee, alumni, the gram panchayat, and the district administrators. The scheme is implemented by the Department of School and Mass Education. Purpose of the MSP awards Recognize, Reward and Incentivize good preforming stakeholders at all levels and set them on the path to be the education leaders of the future. Reward, Recognize and Incentivize students to excel in academics and to make them socially and emotionally aware citizens. Create healthy competition amongst districts, blocks, clusters and schools leading to holistic improvement of the school education ecosystem. Awards - an overview Followings are the awards given Student Awards Awards for top performers in 10th Board exams at state, district and block levels Student Leadership Award - one male and female student Student merit-cum-scholarship award Teacher Award: Best teachers are recognized at state, district and block level. Head Master Awards: Honours Head Masters of Elementary and Secondary Schools at state, district and block level. Awards for Cluster Resource Centre Coordinators (CRCC) - At sub-division level, 58 CRCCs (Best performing CRCC of each sub-division) shall be awarded with a cash incentive of ₹20,000/- each. Award for Block Education Officer (BEO) - At the state level, the best performing 10 BEOs shall be awarded ₹60,000/- each. Awards for District Education Officer (DEO) - At the state level, top 03 DEOs shall be awarded ₹75,000/- each.
