<h3>Introduction</h3> <ul> <li>The Government of Tamil Nadu launched the <a href="viewcontent/schemesall/state-specific-schemes/tamil-nadu/pudhumai-pen-scheme?lgn=en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pudhumai Penn Scheme</a> for Girl Students to encourage them to pursue higher education.</li> <li>To support the boys students from economically backward families who are unable to pursue higher education due to poor financial conditions, the Tamil Nadu Government launched the "Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme".</li> <li>The main aim of this scheme is to provide financial support to boys from low-income group families to complete their higher education.</li> <li>Monthly financial assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month is provided to boys students who have completed their class 6th to class 12th education from government or government-aided schools and currently studying in any undergraduate, ITI, Diploma, or Polytechnic Course.</li> <li>The online application mode is available to apply for the Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme through the <a href="https://umisdashboard.tnega.org/auth/login" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UMIS Portal</a>.</li> </ul> <h3>Benefits</h3> <ul> <li>Monthly Financial Assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month to Boys Students.</li> </ul> <h3>Eligibility</h3> <ul> <li>Boys Students are Eligible who are currently studying in :- <ul> <li>Undergraduate Course.</li> <li>ITI.</li> <li>Diploma.</li> <li>Polytechnic.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Class 6th to Class 12th Education of Boy Students should be from a Government or Government-Aided School.</li> </ul> <h3>Documents</h3> <ul> <li>Aadhaar Card.</li> <li>Bank Account Details.</li> <li>Mobile Number and Email.</li> <li>UMIS/ EMIS Number.</li> <li>Education Related Documents.</li> <li>Photo.</li> </ul> <h3>Process to Apply</h3> <ul> <li>Contact the College/ University and get the EMIS/ UMIS ID from the Nodal Officer.</li> <li>Visit the <a href="https://umisdashboard.tnega.org/auth/login" target="_blank" rel="noopener">University Management Information System (UMIS) portal</a> and log in with your Username and Password.</li> <li>Username is EMIS/ UMIS ID, and Password is the last 4 digits of the student's mobile number and year of birth.</li> <li>Fill out the Tamizh Pudhalvan Scheme Online Application Form after logging in.</li> <li>Upload all the documents and submit the form.</li> <li>Take a printout of the filled application form and submit it to the college/ university.</li> <li>College/ University will forward to the concerned department for the amount disbursement.</li> <li>Selected Boys Students will get monthly assistance of Rs. 1,000/- per month directly in their bank account.</li> </ul> <h3>Contact</h3> <ul> <li>Contact on 14417, or email a <a href="mailto:umishelpdesk@tn.gov.in">umishelpdesk@tn.gov.in</a> for further help.</li> <li>Students can also contact the District Social Welfare Officer for further assistance regarding this scheme.</li> </ul>
