Introduction The Own Your Auto Scheme is an important self-employment initiative started by the Government of Telangana to create livelihood opportunities for minority youth. The scheme was introduced in 2015 and is implemented by the Minorities Department, Government of Telangana. A large number of educated youth from minority communities, especially in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) areas and Rangareddy district, depend on auto-rickshaw driving for income. However, most of them do not own their vehicles and are forced to rent autos on daily charges, which reduces their earnings. To address this problem, the Telangana government launched the Own Your Auto Scheme to help these youth become vehicle owners. Under the scheme, the government provides 50% subsidy on the cost of a three-wheeler auto, while the remaining 50% can be arranged through a bank loan. The assistance is available only for CNG or LPG operated autos with three-seating capacity. The objective is to encourage eco-friendly transport and provide stable income to minority families. Eligibility Applicants must fulfill these conditions: Must be a resident of Telangana. Should belong to GHMC area or Rangareddy district. Must belong to any minority community:. Muslim. Sikh. Christian. Jain. Parsi. Buddhist. Age should be between 21 and 55 years. Must have a valid three-wheeler driving license. Annual family income should be below Rs. 2,00,000. Subsidy is applicable only for CNG/ LPG autos. Documents Applicants need to submit the following documents :- Aadhaar Card. Valid three-wheeler driving license. Bank account details. Process to Apply Eligible candidates can apply for the Own Your Auto Scheme by filling the application form available on the Telangana State Online Beneficiary Management & Monitoring System Portal. Open the official application portal. Enter personal details correctly. Fill contact and bank account information. Select the auto model to be purchased. Upload all required documents. Submit the application form. After submission, the applicant must take a printout and submit it with documents at the Minorities Finance Corporation branch office. Officials will verify the application and documents. Approved cases will be forwarded to :- Transport Department - for vehicle permit. Bank - for loan sanction.
