Yuva Sathi Yojna, also known as Banglar Yuva Sathi, is a welfare initiative of the Government of West Bengal aimed at providing financial assistance to unemployed youth in the state. The age of the applicant should be between 21 and 40 years. The applicant must have passed Madhyamik (Class 10) or equivalent examination. The applicant must be currently unemployed. Applicants already receiving benefits under certain other state welfare schemes may not be eligible (except educational scholarships). Applicants are advised to verify eligibility conditions before applying. Application Process Educated yet unemployed youth of West Bengal can apply for a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 under the Banglar Yuba Sathi Scheme by submitting the prescribed application form. The form can be obtained from special registration camps set up by the government across all 294 Assembly constituencies of the state. In addition, applicants also have the option to download the application form directly from the concerned department’s official website. These registration camps are designed to provide a convenient, on-the-spot enrollment facility for eligible young individuals. Interested applicants can visit the nearest camp to complete their registration. Designated officials present at the venue distribute the forms and assist candidates throughout the application process. They also clarify eligibility conditions, document requirements, and other essential guidelines to help ensure accurate submission. Applicants must carefully fill out the form and attach all necessary supporting documents before submission. The completed application, along with the required documents, must be handed over to the camp officials for further processing. After detailed verification and background scrutiny, the designated officer forwards the list of eligible candidates to the District Magistrate for approval of financial assistance under the scheme. In areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the Commissioner acts as the sanctioning authority. Once verification is successfully completed, the approved amount of Rs. 1,500 is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account. Selected beneficiaries are also required to periodically confirm their status (including life status verification) to continue receiving assistance.
