Background Thirubuvanam is a town located in the vicinity of Kumbakonam in Tanjavur district, 285 km south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu. This historical town has preserved the art of silk weaving. The town of Thirubuvanam has been renowned for its aesthetically pleasing silk sarees right from the time of the Cholas.
