About Vikaspedia Vikaspedia is a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India initiative. It is an AI augmented technology initiative to accelerate the availability and accessibility of digital information in Indian languages to empower citizens and catalyze digital transformation. The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Hyderabad, a Scientific Society under MeitY is implementing the nationwide initiative. Developed as part of this initiative is the multilingual, multi-sectoral collaborative knowledge sharing platform - www.vikaspedia.in . Vikaspedia provides information covering several livelihood sectors related to social development, such as Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Energy, Digital Governance, Women, etc. It is available in all 22 scheduled languages of the country, besides English. The initiative seeks to build a vibrant, inclusive, and participatory digital knowledge ecosystem where organisations working closely with communities contribute, curate, validate and disseminate authentic knowledge resources in Indian languages. Objectives In collaboration with community-based organizations, Vikaspedia seeks to: Promote creation/sharing of high-quality multilingual digital knowledge resources. Increase availability of verified information in Indian languages in cyberspace. Capture and preserve voices from the field and their knowledge, traditional practices, innovations and success stories. Build digital communities of practice around locally relevant thematic domains. Who Can Apply Expressions of Interest are invited from community-based organizations working in livelihood sectors and are involved in generation of citizen-centric developmental knowledge resources as part of their work function. Eligible organisations include (but not limited to) NGOs, Section 8 Companies, Trusts, Societies, Foundation, Farmer Producer Organisations, Cooperatives, Academic Institutions, Research Organisations, Professional Associations, Community Networks, etc Why Become a Knowledge Partner?
