Scheme for Fincncial Assistance to States for Skill Development in Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Sector Brief Description To facilitate skill development in ESDM sector focusing on students/unemployed youth at 9-10th standard onwards, ITI, Diploma, Non-engineering graduates, etc. to increase their employability to work in 'Manufacturing' and 'Service support' functions, a 'Scheme for Financial Assistance to select States/UTs for Skill Development in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector' was approved by DeitY in November, 2013. A total of 90,000 persons are to be supported under the scheme in the selected States in 5 levels of vocational skill development courses recognized by NIELIT/Electronic Sector Skill Council/Telecom Sector Skill Council. Geography – Andhra Pradesh {50% Target), Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala (L3-L5 only), Punjab, Telangana (50% Target), Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand {LI-L2 only). Target segment: 8th standard onwards, School dropouts from 8th Pass onwards, ITl Certificate Holders, Diploma holders, Under Graduate (Non-Engineering). Scheme duration is 4 Years. State Implementing Agency (S IA) - Agency nominated by respective State/UT. Key Implementing Agency (KIA) - Elect ronic Sector Skill Council of India (ESSC I), National Institute of Electronics and IT {NIELIT) and Telecom Sector Skill Council{TSSC) Training Partners - Training to be conducted by Training Partners duly affiliated by either of the three KlAs viz. ESSCI, N IE LIT, TSSC. Who can apply? The eligibility criteria as per Scheme Guidelines is as follows: Level 1 & 2: 8t h pass; Level 3: 10th pass; Level 4: 10th + ITl, l2th pass, other graduates {non-Science) Level S: Diploma, B.Sc. The list of Training Partners will be available on the ESDM Skill Development Portal http://esdm-skill.deity.gov.in Skill Development in ESDM for Digital India Brief Description: Under the aegis of 'Digital India' programme, the department has approved a Scheme for "Skill Development in ESDM for Digital India" on 09.12.2014 to cover all the States/UTs of the country in order to facilitate creation of an eco-system for development of ESDM sector in the entire country for facilitating skill development for 3,28,000 persons in ESDM sector. Target segment: Class 8th standards onwards, School dropouts from Sth Pass onwards, ITl Certificate Holders, Diploma holders, Under Graduate (Non-Engineering). Scheme duration: is 4 Years.
