Department of Agriculture

The Department of Agriculture takes up the following activities

• Agricultural Extension services to farmers and helps in the transfer of latest technical knowledge to the farming community.
• Aassess requirements of agriculture inputs well in advance and to regulate their production and monitor timely supply of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, implements, credit etc., to farmers.
• Statutory functions under various acts and regulations (i.e., quality control) to ensure supply of quality inputs i.e., Seeds, Fertilizers and Pesticides to farmers.
• Soil testing, soil and water conservation, soil survey, credit assessment / arrangements, media production, training to farmers, etc

At the District level the Department is headed by Joint Director of Agriculture and s/he is assisted by DDAs, ADAs and AOs at District, Division and Mandal levels.

Department of Animal Husbandry

The department involves in livestock promotion, fodder development and monitoring of animal husbandry schemes.

Department of Fisheries

The district has a rich fisheries - marine and inland resources. The department is involved in various activities to regulate fisheries sector and also for the welfare of the fishermen.

Department of Horticulture

The department is involved in activities related to the production and productivity of various horticulture crops coupled with value chain development , marketing linkages to help the farming community for realization of remunerative prices.

Department of Civil Supplies

The department takes up the following scheme implementation

• Public Distribution System :- Distribution of Rice to who are having BPL White cardholders at 5 Kgs of Rice per head in number of members at Rs.1/- per Kg.
• Anthyodaya Anna Yojana Scheme :- Distribution of Rice to who are having AAY cardholders at 35 Kgs of Rice per card at Rs.1/- per Kg.
• Annapurna Scheme :- Distribution of Rice to who are having AAP cardholders at 10 Kgs of Rice per card on free of cost.
• Mid Day Meals/ ICDS scheme :- Distribution of Rice to the Schools under Mid day meal scheme and distribution Rice, P.Oil and Redgram Dall to the Anganwadi Centers on subsidized rates through F.P.Shops.
• Welfare Hostels and Jails :- Distribution of Rice to the BC Hostels/ SC Hostels/ ST Hostels/ Polytechnic colleges on subsidized rates.
• Jails :- Distribution of Rice to the Govt. Central Jails and other jails on subsidized rates.
• Deepam Scheme :- Distribution of LPG Deepam connections to who are having BPL cards with subsidy Rs.1600/- (for cylinder deposit – Rs.1450/- and Regulator deposit –Rs.150/-). In order to achieve the aim of the State Government to provide LPG connections to all house holds in the District and to declare the District as 100% LPG enabled District as smokeless District.
• Tribal LPG Package:- The Government have launched distribution of LPG Connections with 5Kg LPG Refills under “Tribal LPG Package” on Free of Cost to the Tribal families in the Agency area on the eve of Birth Anniversary of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar from 14.04.2017.

District Rural Development Agency

The department takes up the following scheme implementation

• Chandranna Bima: scheme to provide relief to the families of unorganized workers in case of death or disability of the unorganised worker
• MGNREGA : wage employment scheme in rural areas
• Pensions : For Old age, widow, disabled, weavers, Toddy Tappers, Abhaya Hastam
• Farmer Producer Groups
• SHG linkages with banks
• Rural Retail Chain (RRC) : marketing platform to the products which are making by the SHG Members

Department handles all the activities regarding Education.

Health Department

The district has 584 Sub centres, 89 PHCs, 1 RHC, 24 e-UPHCs (Mukyamantri Aarogya Kendramlu), 13 Community Health Centre , 1 Area Hospital, 1 District Hospital, 1 Teaching Hospital , 7 Blood storage centtres, 3 Blood Banks catering services to the Public under 3 different administrations (i.e DM&HO, DCHS and Medical Education).
