Conjunctivitis (Red eyes)
Conjunctivitis is a condition in which the conjunctiva covering the white part of the eye becomes inflamed, red, and irritated.
Symptoms
- White of eye is red
- Eye itching
- Watery eye discharge
Causes
Anything that irritates or infects the conjunctiva can cause conjunctivitis. Eg. Viruses, bacteria, allergies, dry eyes

- Blurred Vision: you may need new glasses; it could also be a sign of cataract or serious eye disease
- Redness: A common symptom of inflammation of the eye
- Sensitivity to light: May indicate a serious infection of the eye or glaucoma in children
- Flashes: Indication that you may have had a retinal detachment
- Diabetes can lead to Blindness: Have regular check-ups if you have diabetes
- Severe Pain: A warning for acute glaucoma or eye infections
- Itching/Dryness and excessive blinking: It may be an indication of dry eye syndrome or conjunctivitis
- Inability to see at Night: May indicate cataract, glaucoma or vitamin deficiency
- Coloured halos around lights: A sign that you may have glaucoma
- Are you above 40? : You require complete eye exam regularly
