Capacity Building & Technical Assistance

Brief Description:

The Ministry of DoNER's plan scheme of Capacity Building & Technical Assistance aims to provide funding for skill development, enhancing of employability and competencies and promotion of self employment and entrepreneurship amongst youth. For Government sect or, it seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of mid level functionaries of good governance. MoDoNER sanction projects to various central/state Govt organization based on their presentation & past performance. Major Organization implementing the projects sanctioned during 2014-15 are: CIPET, centres located at Guwahati, Imphal, Bhubneshwar, Jaipur, Chennai, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and Ashoka Institute of Hospitality & Tourism, New Delhi, JBM Auto Ltd, Faridabad, etc Coverage: North East Trades: Hospitality & Tourism, Welding, Electronics, Electrical, etc Various trades in Plastic Engineering & Computer aided designs and product Duration: 3/6/12 months courses

Nature of Assistance:

• Course fees
• Boarding and lodging
• Travel costs of trainees – one time travel costs for to and fro journey from place of residence to the Institutes

Who can apply?

• Youth from the North East Region residing within and outside the region
• Special focus on girls, women, disabled persons and youth from  BPL background and from remote and backward district s or unreached areas
• Focus on youth who are dropouts or have discontinued education after secondary level

How to apply:

• All new proposals will be submitted in prescribed format in the months between January and March for funding requests in the next financial year. The same will be informed through website of the Ministry
• Ministry may also invite eligible institutions/organization to take up Capacity Building programme and technical assistance based on the felt needs of the North Eastern Region.
