Manodhairya Scheme
A scheme for Rape victims, Children who are victims of Sexual Offences and Acid Attack Victims (Women and Children).
- It is of utmost importance to ensure the victims of Rape and Acid Attacks (Women and Children) are brought out from the psychological shock that they suffer. It is also equally important to provide them Shelter, Financial Assistance, Medical and Legal Aid and Counselling Services.
- Govt. of Maharashtra has been implementing Manodhairya Scheme for rehabilitation of victims of Rape and Acid Attacks (women and children) by providing them Financial Assistance
- The Women and Child Development Dept. is implementing Manodhairya Scheme in the State. Financial Assistance of Rs.1 Lakhs and in special cases Rs. 10 Lakhs. is provided to the victims. Based on the requirement, Rehabilitation of victims and their dependents by way of shelter, counselling, medical and legal support, Education and Vocational Education is carried out.
- Single Window System: Complete process starting from accepting the forms to providing financial assistance have been handed over to District Level/ State Level Legal Services Authority
- Inclusion of minor Girls under ITPA Act: The revised Act also covers Minor Girls rescued under The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

ASMITA Yojana
The government of Maharashtra has launched ASMITA Yojana to distribute subsidized sanitary napkins to the rural women in the state.
This scheme is for rural women and adolescent girls of ZP school of age group 11- 19 yrs. For adolescent girls, a pack of 8 sanitary napkins is being provided at a subsidized rate of Rs 5/-. For every packet there is a subsidy of Rs 15.20. Rural women get the sanitary pads at Rs. 24.20 (240mm) and Rs. 29.20 (280mm) per packet containing 8 napkins each. All school girls are being provided with ‘ASMITA Card’ for instant purchase of the napkins.

Rajmata Jijau Mother-Child Health & Nutrition Mission
The programme is being implemented to tackle malnutrition. The first phase of the Health and Nutrition Mission was set up in 2005, and the second phase in November 2011. The aim of the Mission is to reduce child malnutrition in Maharashtra by focusing on the first 1000 days from conception, i.e. the period of -9 to 24 months.
The Role of the Mission includes the following:
- Advocacy regarding the importance of the first 1000 days.
- Acting as a ‘think tank’ and to give policy advice to the government regarding evidence-based interventions.
- Achieving convergence between difference departments with the common objective of reducing malnutrition.
